Triangle Weavers (Uloboridae)

Hackled band orb-weavers are 4-8 mm in length. The triangle wever, Hyptiotes is the most often seen in California. It builds a partial orbweb, like a pie-piece. Uloborids are unique among spiders in that they do not have venom glands.
