Sheetweb Weavers & Dwarf Weavers (Linyphiidae)

Most linyphiids are 1-4 mm in length, but many species are less than one millimeter. Most weave sheet-webs. Neriene litigiosa, the "filmy-dome" spider, bends the sheet down into an inverted dome, and is very frequently encountered in California. Around 100 species in around 30 genera are recorded from California, and it is likely that many more remain to be discovered.
