Folding Door Spiders & Turret Spiders (Antrodiaetidae)
|
|
| Antrodiaetids can be around 5-25 mm in length. They live in burrows and attacks prey that wanders by the burrow entrance. The turret spiders (Antrodiaetus gertschi and A. riversi) build a small turret out of plant debris at the burrow entrance. Other species of Antrodiaetus hide their burrows with a silk "folding door." Members of the genus Aliatypus contruct trapdoors. |
